Emergency lighting testing
Emergency lighting is designed to come on in the case of a power cut so people can see and make their way safely out of any building. Regular testing and maintenance of your emergency lighting is crucial to ensure that it works when most needed. We understand this and take emergency lighting seriously: we know it’s there to save lives.
All employers, landlords or occupiers have a duty under the Fire Precaution (Workplace) Regulations 1997 to carry out a risk assessment of their premises to ensure that anyone in the building can make a safe escape in the event of an emergency.
The continued compliance with the Emergency Lighting Regulations BS5266 calls for user checks, routine inspections and testing on a regular basis. Unlike other companies we create an Emergency Lighting Log Book for every building we test. This Log book is an exact record of every emergency light on the premises, making it an easy guide to the whereabouts of the installation and the nature of the checks and inspections needed.
If our clients want more involvement we can instruct staff on how to carry out part of the testing procedures using your Emergency Lighting Log Book. We can then complete tests with minimal disruption either monthly, six-monthly or annually to suit your needs.
